Goin hard

So after weeks of preparation, I have finally started my own business. Its pretty simple, I teach kids, adults, and anyone in between how to skate. I started with a few kids and moved right into a few adults. Its going good, getting anywhere from $20/hr, to $50/hr. Loving every minute of what I do.

Working out is going GREAT too. In the gym almost everyday, stickhandling a lot still too. And on the ice almost everyday. GOIN HARD for next season.

Diet is going good also, I'm really starting to pack on the muscle and a couple days ago I did my 1 month picutres, so maybe we can get a good snapshot of my training phases, should be wild to see afterwards.

Latest vids.

Tiring, but GREAT weekend

When I say tiring, I mean exhausted. Some people think that after a hard day of work they are tired. But in reality its comes down to their intake and expenditures. For example, if you intake nothing but coffee, chips, pizza, and microwaved meals and alcohol (the typical workaholic menu), you will probably feel exhausted after a regular day of work. But lets say on the other end of the spectrum, you eat nearly perfectly. For example, all the food you eat comes fresh, and not preserved at all (yes expensive and time consuming, but VERY healthy). You eat just enough to get you by without over-indulging, or under-eating. Just enough carbs to replenish your glycogen levels, some healthy fats that your body needs to function. And just enough protein to repair and rebuild all the tissue in your body. And lets not forget lots of water, and plenty of REM sleep (deep sleep).

Now lets look back...are you exhausted because of the amount of energy you expelled? Or are you tired due to a lack of actual energy being ingested? 99.9% of the population either gets too much energy (and not enough exercise) causing weight gain, or not enough energy (and too much exercise), causing injuries or something of the sort.

Saturday and Sunday, I can tell you I didn't meet my recommended nutritional needs, causing massive amounts of tiredness, and stomach aches. Thus my output level of success in what I was doing dropped dramatically.

So next time you blame your tiredness on the amount of work/energy being expelled (used), just think back....did you get enough sleep in the last couple weeks? Did you get proper nutrition leading up to that point, and during that day? Did you get enough water? Did you have the proper mindset going into the point that begun feeling tired?

Here's a couple vids since I last posted.

Busy, busy, busy!

Sorry for not posting in a couple days, it has been a fast couple days, and this weekend doesn't look any slower. After playing hockey everyday for anywhere from an hour to maybe even 4 hours, you tend to not want to do anything but sleep. Not me, working out too, yoga, and even did some Ab Ripper 2 nights ago. AWESOME. I am feeling sore, but great. I feel lighter and stronger than ever.

I'll post a couple videos tomorrow, and maybe one tonight on my highly touted leg workout. Diet is going good, trying to limit my fat intake as much as possible, maximizing carbs, and getting just enough protein, making sure to not over-do it.

But today, Saturday, and Sunday won't give me much more rest either. Going to be on the ice for a solid couple hours today, along with working legs hard. Then tomorrow, I should be on the ice for close to 8 hours doing a goalie clinic. Gonna need to pack on the carbs the next 72 hours. And Sunday, I should be on the ice for another 3 hours. LOL, gonna crash hard after that!

Also, I am going to take my monthly pics probably Sunday night, and then again a month from that, and 3 weeks after that, to show my transformation over this spring training period.

Should be epic. I'll post a few vids over the next 24 hours.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hardcore day in the gym, tomorrow lots of skating

So, today was pretty laid back. Had a great diet, around 4K cals, 700g carbs, 180g protein, 55g fat, lots of nutrients. Went to the gym, lifted hard, doing lots of pyramids, bi's and forearms, really gonna probably be sore tomorrow.

Going to do P90x ab ripper tomorrow, along with probably track, and 2 hours on ice.

Nothing else to report on my end. Can't wait for playoffs to start on Wednesday.

And, I think I might start taping when I go to lift, maybe, maybe not, but I would like to show everyone how hard I go in the gym, and to doc what I do.

We'll see, shout out to this new guy I met on the Tube.

Sub him up.

GREAT SUNDAY

What can I say, Yesterday was an amazing day. Started out pretty good, with eating 2 breakfasts, watched a lot of masters online, then went out to a local hill and did some hill sprint (great for building leg muscles and sprinting speed). Then over to the driving range where I pulled out the clubs for the first time in over 6 months :/ . All while getting a tan :) . Washed my car, which didn't really need it, but I was bored, and it was a great day....85 in Michigan in the 2nd week in April??? Yeah, amazing.

Ended the day watching the last day of regular season hockey, congratz to Chicago on bearly making it in. I think they will give Vancouver a run for their money.

Watched Rory fail, like I thought he might. Watched tiger rip it up, like I thought he might (I wanna see the late Nighties Tiger again :( . And watched a random golfer win it all.

Wish I could have caught the Heat Celtics game, that would have been sick.

Ended the night out with a nice recipe.

(1) Dannon Greek Plain Yogurt
(2) Yoplait (fat free) yogurt (in this case, vanilla and key lime pie)
(5) Raw Strawberries
(20) Blueberries
(10) Blackberries

AMAZING! Had a glass of OJ, and a glass of Protein w/ Creatine shake to top it all off.

Here's a bunch of my videos I've posted over the last 48 hours.

Just a little Tid Bit

So yesterday went really well, I was on the Ice for nearly 3 hours, and got to watch a lot of the masters and some near-playoff hockey.

I'll post my picks for the playoffs tonight or tomorrow. I've got a couple upsets on my mind.

My diet yesterday was a good one, but I ate a lot, but for good reason, I needed it. Close to 4500 cals, 700g carbs, 100g fat, 200g protein.

What blogs are suppose to be....

In the dictionary, a blog is referred to as more of a informal modern day, public diary of sorts. I would then come to think that this is a TOTAL contradiction, because a diary is suppose to be ONLY seen by you, and only you. So, until I feel that I feel it is necessary, let this post mark the point where a event that was forthcoming for a while happened, and I might open up on what exactly has happened, if I feel like it.

But, for the reasoning of me doing this, I will now start the more important part of this post. The last couple days has been interesting to say the least, it is now a forgone conclusion that I need to find a job, but its REALLY hard to find something I WANT to do. I don't want to waste my time for $8/hr. I would much rather take a 75% cut in pay, and do 1/2 as much man hours in work and actually get paid twice as much per hour. And then, do two of THOSE jobs, in the end, getting only 50% more pay than I would getting $8/hr, while still only doing 50% more time worked. Get it?

All it boils down to is me doing what I love to do, which (as of this moment in time) is play hockey, and have some laughs along the way. Unfortunately, love for what I do changes oh-so-slightly every once in a while, and sometimes hockey gets dragged down with it.

So, for now, I am trying to make money shooting on goalies, teaching kids how to play the game, and more over, skate, rather than anything else really. Which I LOVE doing, but it isn't steady income, which is definitely a problem. I like the idea of working really hard online, and making money through Google Adsense or a Service like CLICKBANK, but as of right now, it hasn't panned out, due to the lack of traffic I seem to get.

ON A TOTALLY DIFFERENT NOTE. As for my diet, it seems to be working, I feel a lot stronger everyday, and a lot leaner. The past 2 days, I've been really good about my fat and carbs intake, only intaking enough to keep me going, rather than going over that amount, and it being stored as more fat. Stickhandling is going GREAT, I will post a video of a highlight where I dangle a few people out of their skates, and these people aren't any push-overs, they are ex-pros and the liking.

Good couple days, could be better

After the last few days of having great days and no problems. It was bound to get worse. Training is going good, still working out hard, but its the little things that hurt the most, on Tuesday I tweaked my shoulder a bit, which lead to pain the rest of that day, and some on Wednesday. Today looks to be a better day, I iced my shoulder down a lot over the last few days, and it feels better. I will probably post at least 2 videos tonight, definitely "ON ICE", and "STICKHANDLING", but maybe another also.

Diet for the last few days was almost just as suspected, staying close to 3000-3500 cals, 500-600g carbs, 175-200g protein, 50-75g fat.

Still working on putting on weight, but yesterday I weighed in at 183, with just clothes on, no shoes. :/

GREAT DAY YESTERDAY

GREAT DAY YESTERDAY! Nuff Said! Started out good, got my hair cut, went over to phys therapy, then over to shoot on goalies (video below), then over to the track, then back for more stickhandling in the garage, then a juicy steak back home. NUFF SAID!

Ended my day out with 3200cals, 500g carbs, 220g protein, 55g fat. Pretty decent.

After much consideration, I think I am going to stop trying to build lightly, and build hard, and pack on some weight, muscle, fat and water.

My plan as of today is going to be, build from now until May 5th, then cut from then until June 5th. Not sure if I should go to a stricter diet, or go to a 3-4 meals/day, or what. I'm at about 183-5 naked, 12% body fat (I think, you can see my abs definition when I tighten up (not flex), and most of my upper body is mega defined, not a true gauge yet. I plan on jumping up to maybe as much as 200 w/ clothes on by May 5th, then try and drop down to maybe 175, and really cut by June 5th. The last few months have been just me getting in the gym, working on my shoulder, and not thinking much of it, and getting a lot stronger, but I really want to pack on the muscle (and a little extra), then cut as much as 20 pounds in a month.

Honestly I don't plan on actually getting up to 200, and getting down to 175, as those goals are really over the top, but set your goals high, and don't actually think that you won't make them, and it can happen.

I'll post before and after pictures for sure.

Today will be another tiring day, doing to start out being on the ice for close to 3 hours, then maybe some stickhandling or track, but definitely gym. Today's diet looks like 3500cals, 600g carbs, 200g protein, 60g fat.

As predicted, great day

Today turned out great just as I thought it would. Started it out with a good breakfast, lots of Wheaties, bagel, and some Ohhhhh Jaaay! Warmed up my hands outside (in the video below), and then went over to a local rink and took some shots on goalies. Did really well there, working on my shot, I actually took a lot of snap shots, and they were rippers too. The goalie coach gave me a couple pointers, which is exactly what I was looking for, and I will definitely take what he told me in and use it.

Ended the day out with 3500cals, 608g carbs, 140g protein, 60g fat, which is almost exactly what I was looking for.

Today looks to be just as good as yesterday, going to phys therapy, then to shoot on more goalies, and round the day out with a haircut, I'll post some b4 & after pix. Probably going to be going for a more leaner diet today, but loaded in protein. 3000cals, 500g carbs, 50g fat, 200g protein.

Shout out to Status Quo, for winning the Halo: Reach, first MLG event of the year, it was their first Tournament win, and the definitely deserved it. Also, shout out to Urijah Faber, can't wait to see UFC 132 in July.

Hopefully another great day

Today should be just as good as yesterday. I get the opportunity to shoot on some goalies for cash, and maybe get some pointers from them, which would be all the better. Then maybe a workout at the track, if weather permits it. Going to try for something like 3500cals, 550g C, 175g P, 50g F.

By the way, I would like to give a shout out to the Potsdam Icestorm, 19U AAA girls team, played really well at Nationals, made it all the way to the Quarter finals, out of hundreds of thousands of teams, these girls made it to the last 8 teams, pretty impressive.

Best day in a while

Today was one of the better days I've had in recent weeks. Had a good time playing hockey in the morning, ate a good brunch with all my family. Washed my car, ate more good food, went shopping, ate EVEN MORE GOOD food, went on a nice drive to release some tension, and stickhandled for a hour or so.

Couldn't ask for much more. I've have changed my diet up a little, as I am currently trying to build solid muscle in my thighs and upper body, I am eating a little more, 3000-3500 cals, 500g carbs, 200g protein, 75g fat.

On a slightly different note, NHL playoffs are about 3 weeks away, I'll post my seeded bracket once the playoff teams are finalized.

Going to rip it up this week at the track and stickhandling.

Lots to do

Today will prove to be a full day. First, I am going to go around to a few shops and see if anyone can find out what is wrong with my amp for my car, maybe its something that is an easy fix, I really want to have the bump in my trunk again, if you know what I mean, haha.

Rehab today, shoulder is feeling better, but not 100% I think. More like something around 50%, but I'm not sure. I think I will post another puck handling video tonight, along with maybe another video Saturday at the track.

Please share this with you friends!

Life comes at you fast

The last couple days have been pretty amazing. After being in the gym everyday, and in the garage working on my hands and stuff, I took a small break for the past couple days to maybe get a job, or fix a few things of mine.

First thing on my list on BIG to-do's was getting a job, which isn't easy in Detroit's economy. In fact, its near impossible. I started trying to do a few things online, we will see how that goes.

Next was working on my car a little bit, I am working on fixing my dead Subwoofer Amp in the back of my car, which again takes quite a bit of expertise, so lots of surfing the web looking for answers, it will come, just not now.

Now, back to the grind, going to put up a stickhandling video tomorrow, and more than likely a track video too, we will see.

My diet the last couple days has been good but not great, I will post final numbers ASAP.

Sorry for the irregularity of my posts, it will get back to normal once I find work and get some GOOD sleep, for a change.

Better Day, Really Tired

Had a pretty good day today, was on the Ice for 2-3 hours, in the gym for an hour, and lots of stretching.

Went on the ice today for some pick-up with some friends, skated pretty well and hard, but not the best shooting.  Really good overall hands when trying to dangle and such, but bad shooting as all.  I got a pretty hard workout in though because there were only a couple guys on each bench and most of us were skating 90-100%, felt good to get that kind of sweat going.

Was in the gym, and worked Bi's and Forearms.  Really hard workout, but had a headache through the WHOLE thing.  Its rare, last time I had a headache was a couple months ago, maybe longer.  But still got a pretty good pump going, might be a little sore tomorrow, but thats the idea right?

My diet intake for the day was pretty high considering the sweat I got on ice, nearly 4000cals, 675g carbs, 150g protein, 75g fat.  I needed the extra though, so no big deal, probably going to go for 3000cals, 500g carbs, 200g protein, 50g fat tomorrow.  Tomorrow's a wreck though, Job Interview, then Physcial Therapy, then Deep Tissue Massage, which will great.  I'm probably just going to be doing hands tomorrow, as I have a feeling I will be pretty sore and tired.

As for how I track my nutrition, go here.  Great site for tracking what you eat.

New video of yesterday's stick handling is up, Check it out!

The past and the future...

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, it was quite a strange day.  I got up pretty early to take my dad to work, and never really had a the good night of sleep I wanted.  I ended up going to the gym and the track and just worked on my flexibilty and my explosiveness a little bit with box jumps.

I ended the day yesterday with something like 3200cals, 550g carbs, 200g protein, 30g fat.  Again not the day I wanted.

I also did a lot of stickhandling, and I will post that video later today.

I will be on the ice A LOT today, spending the better part of 3 hours on the ice, so I will probably only stretch out, and do some stuff in my basement to insure the recovery of my legs for tomorrow.

I will probably end up stickhandling more today, and I will try and post that video later today also.

Going to try for 3000cals, 450g carbs, 175g protein, 40g fat today.

Sorry I have been so busy, but I will try and post a little more objectivity in my next post.

Bad night of Sleep

Not a great night of sleep last night, wish I would have gotten a lot better sleep but not much I can do other than maybe a long nap during the day today.

Forgot to mention that today will be my 3rd session of therapy, and even though my shoulder hurts, I feel that it is getting stronger each and every day.

Today looks to be a good day, I am not as sore as I thought I was going to be, I just am a little sore in the bottom of my hamstrings.  Todays workout looks like just lots of dynamic stretching, maybe some cardio on the elliptical at the gym, and lots of stick handling.  And possibly P90x Stretch or Ab Ripper.

As far as diet is concerned today, I am looking at going REALLY lean today, maybe only 20-30g of fat, and lots less simple carbs than usual.  Definitely no chips today!

I am looking forward to also looking around for part-time work, I think unless my Ad Sense account starts really banking in on my Blogging or Youtube Videos, I need to be working 30-40 hours/week.

Today's Workout/Diet

Today was a big day for my workout routine. I went to a local hill where I warmed up (sister wasn't around to film), and did numerous runs/squats up the hill (30-45% incline), got everything loose, then went to the track for an hour and half.

I will probably be sore a little tomorrow, which is good, but rare, it takes a lot to get my legs sore right now.

I have been stretching/(stationary)biking every 15-30 mins since I got home at 6 PM EST, because I can already feel them tightening up. I worked hard on stairs (love doing stairs, great workout/warm up, and great work for your explosiveness) for 10 mins, then did 20s (yards), 40s, and lots of plyo, and dynamic stretching, along with some hardcore squat, hockey stuff.

I think I will definitely see better 40 times by Wednesday of this week or friday after I take a couple day break from the track to let everything heal.

Definitely going to be going hard tomorrow in the gym, or I will be going hard in the garage with lots of hands work, I have been in the garage in a couple days, and I feel rusty even after being on the ice on Saturday real good (I guess I have too much desire to get better haha).

If I don't go in the gym tomorrow, it will be lots of dynamic stretching tomorrow, and probably a lot of biking and static stretching, with some hands work.  Going to probably keep my diet down to 2000cals tomorrow, along with lots of protein.  Maybe as much as 40% of diet being protein (200grams(ish), it might be overkill, but I feel that either way I will need it, along with lots of Creatine.

Todays Diet, which still isn't over (Gonna hit a solid protein/creatine shake within the next hour or so).  Goes something like this, 3000cals, 500g carbs, 175g protein, 45g fat.  I know, I ate a lot of crappy food today, promise tomorrow it will be back to 2000cals, 350g carbs, 175 protein, 30g fat.

Have a good night, Imma hit the sheets early.

First Post

Well, being my first post, I will try to go as simple as possible.  Today looks to be a pretty easy day.  I got up at like 8 today, which is mega weird, but I got to sleep a lot earlier than I usually do last night.  I've been hitting it hard in the gym, track, rink, and everywhere, seems like I work out 24/7, but I like it that way.

Worked Legs hard in the gym yesterday, and now today my traps hurt, due to the fact that I was holding 60+ in each dumbbells all the time.  But my legs might be slightly tight, but I feel like I usually do.  I was working on my Box jump yesterday, got all the way up to a little over 45" running, and 42" standing.

Today is looking pretty simple, probably going to go to the gym before it closes at noon (I know wtf right), definately go to the track today, probably go in the garage and work on hands, and probably do P90x Stretch.  <<Normal hard workout day.
